Try Pain Reprocessing Therapy
In 2017 there was a breakthrough in learning how chronic pain can be cured. And Pain Reprocessing Therapy was the answer.
The Boulder Back Pain Study at the University of Colorado found that after four weeks of therapy, 66% of people who suffered from back pain felt relief from their symptoms. Even more amazingly, most were still pain-free 12 months later.
So what is Pain Reprocessing Therapy?
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) was devised by Alan Gordon – a chronic pain sufferer himself. His theory is based on the idea that pain starts in the brain.
In his therapy, he uses several ways of removing fear surrounding chronic pain to change the signals in the brain. Somatic tracking is part of his approach to calming the brain and sending messages of safety in order to reduce pain.
The outcome for those in the study who used PRT was far better than those using a different form of therapy or a placebo.

Can Pain Reprocessing Therapy really work?
Still not convinced and need to see physical proof? Well the study has that too.
Researchers scanned the brains of the participants who were using PRT, before and after taking part in the study. What did they find? That the areas of the brain associated with generating pain changed after using the PRT method. There was literal physical evidence of a difference!

Will this therapy help you?
While it’s great that four weeks made such a different to these back pain sufferers, many people’s path to recovery will take much longer.
Still, the concepts linked to the therapy are definitely worth trying and if it helps in any way that’s got to be a win, however big or small. It could even make you one of the 66% who are a pain-free.
